The bees' homes among us

Our apiaries — where the bees live among Kuwait's homes

No farms across oceans and no shipping containers. Our hives are scattered among Kuwait's residential areas; we tend them with our own hands and move them to wherever the sider is in bloom — and this is their page.

The beekeeper's year — where are we today?

The sider season waits for no one. The bee knows its way around this map — and the marker moves by itself with the calendar.

  1. The bees on the sider blossomSeptember — October

The Kuwaiti sider blossoms and the hives go out to the flowers — here everything begins.

  2. The season's harvestFrom November

We open the hives and harvest the full sider combs — one harvest a year, never rushed.

  3. Extraction and packingAfter the harvest

The honey is extracted and packed into its jars as it left the comb — no blending, no additives.

  4. Tending and moving the hivesThe rest of the year

We check on the hives and move them to shade, water and blossom, until the sider season comes round again.

The highlighted stop is computed automatically from today's month — no one moves it by hand.
